The Only Jewellery You'll Wear Every Day
A wedding ring is the one piece that never comes off. It goes into the washing-up, the garden, the hospital bag, forty years of ordinary mornings. That changes how I make it. I am Anne Edwards, a bench jeweller with over nine years at the bench and an MA in Jewellery, and I make these rings myself — you will not be handed between a salesperson and a workshop you never see. From the first conversation to the final polish, it is my hands on your rings.
Made From the Gold Your Family Already Holds
Most couples come to me with something already: a grandmother's engagement ring, a signet nobody wears, a broken chain kept in a drawer for twenty years. I melt those metals down and draw them into new rings. Nothing is lost and nothing is wasted — the gold that was at one wedding is at yours, and the ring carries a history no shop-bought band can. Where you have no heirloom metal, I work in recycled gold and platinum as standard.

Comfort You Stop Noticing
A ring that catches, spins or digs in gets taken off, and a ring that gets taken off gets lost. So I think about the inside of the band as carefully as the outside: the profile against your finger, the weight in the metal, the height of a setting under a coat sleeve, the way a claw is finished so it never snags a jumper. My background spans contemporary design studios in the US and commercial manufacturing here in the Jewellery Quarter, and both taught me the same thing — a beautiful ring that is uncomfortable is an unfinished ring.
Two of You, Two Timelines
Engagement rings are usually made in secret and to a deadline neither of us can move. Wedding bands are the opposite: you choose them together, and there is a date in the diary. I plan for both. Come to me around four to six months before the wedding and there is room to source stones, try shapes and change your mind. Come later than that and I will tell you honestly what is still possible.

Rings You Can Trace Back to One Bench
Most jewellers sell you a ring. I make it — and you are welcome to come and watch it happen. Your commission never leaves my hands for an anonymous workshop, and it never passes through a salesperson who has not held a file.

Every ring is assayed and hallmarked to UK standards at the Birmingham Assay Office, a ten-minute walk from my bench.
Designed Together, Made by One Pair of Hands
There is no design team, no account manager and no subcontracted workshop between us. You bring the story, the budget and whatever metal your family has kept; I bring nine years at the bench, an MA in Jewellery and an award-winning practice. Between us we make two rings that belong to nobody else.
What sets it apart
Engagement Rings
Solitaires, trilogies, hidden halos, pear and oval centres, twisted and diamond-set shoulders — or something that looks like none of those. I source certified diamonds and coloured stones for you to view in person before anything is committed to metal, and I will happily reset a stone you already own. If it is a surprise, I am used to working quietly around ring sizes, timings and a partner who must not find out.

What sets it apart
Wedding Bands
Court, flat and D-profile bands in 9ct or 18ct gold, platinum and silver, from a 2mm whisper to a 6mm statement. I hand-texture with a forty-year-old diamond-cutting tool, so no two surfaces are ever identical, and I cut fitted bands to sit flush against an engagement ring with no gap. Make them as a pair and the two rings can share a metal, a finish, or an engraving only you will ever read.

Every commission runs the same four stages, and you see the rings at each one. Nothing is cast, set or finished without your say-so, and there is no obligation until you are happy with the design and the quote.

Not every couple wants to wait on a commission, and a short engagement is no reason to settle. These are handmade in my studio and ready now — each one hand-finished, so no two are quite the same. Every design can also be made to order in 9ct or 18ct gold or platinum.
